Below is the AquAcademy Leaders Guide information for the Merit Badge pre-requisites. This was sent to me last night and is the current up to date information. Please review the pre-requisites and prepare yourselves.

A workbook for this can be found at http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Canoeing or at http://usscouts.org/mb/worksheets/canoeing.pdf and should be brought to the event. Those requirements will also be discussed.

P.S. I HAD ALSO MADE A POST REGARDING THE RECYLING PROGRM THAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE OVER. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? I DID NOT GET A RESPONSE. WE WOULD BE INTERESTED IN TAKING OVER IF WE COULD GET A BIT MORE INFO. DOES EVERYONE BRING THEIR CANS TO US AND WE ARE REQUIRED TO TURN THEM IN AND BRING THE MONEY BACK TO THE TROOP?

Is there a swim test going on for those who did not past the first swim test prior to going to the AquaAcademy?

Saturday is the only day a BSA lifeguard can administer the swim test locally. AquaAcademy Leaders Guide indicates they will try to administer the swim test, but they do NOT guarantee they will be able to do it. There is a lot of material to cover in the Merit Badges and the time it takes to swim test takes away from the MB class. Since before going on or in the water, the boys have to swim test. They may miss requirements in their MB class if they ST at camp. If the boys do not test Sat. or at camp, they will be moved to a land based MB.
