Hi Scouts,

Come on out and earn the

CHESS MERIT BADGE. Dr. Mick Rathjens from Troop 356 will be your merit badge counselor. He is an avid player and chess set collector. No worries if you have no idea how to play the game – he is going to teach you! All you’ll need is a passion to learn. Some think this is an extremely complicated game . . . not so

When: Friday Evening, May 3, May 17, and May 24, 2013

Time: 6:30 pm. – 9:30 pm.

Where: Boca Design Center Suite 310, Boca Raton (right next door to Twisters Gymnastics)

Dress: FULL Class A

What to Bring: Chess Merit Badge Worksheets, Chess Merit Badge Workbook, Pen, & Signed Blue Card

Cost: $5.00 / We will be providing drinks & snacks for all three sessions / please pay in cash at the door

Deadline to Register: Monday, April 29th

PRE-REQUISITES:

1. BE PREPARED. Read the Chess Merit Badge Pamphlet prior to the badge class. You will need an understanding of the game.

2. Excellent behavior.

3 Be on time.

4. When registering, you will need to be available to attend all three sessions.

Reminders:

1. Leave all electronics at home.

This includes cell phones. Your son will have access to leadership phones.

2. Bring your Blue Card completely filled out in pen with your Scoutmaster’s signature.

Directions to 3100 N.W. Boca Raton Boulevard, Boca Raton:

From I-95 & Yamato: Head east to N.W. 2nd Second Avenue (Boca Raton Boulevard).

Turn right heading South on N.W. 2nd  Avenue

Boca Design Center is south of Spanish River Boulevard on the left hand side.

Turn left into the complex and go to the south side of building #300.

We are in Suite #312 / east side of Twisters Gymnastics

It’s important for your Scout to read the above information and follow through. Following directions and excellent behavior is part of my criteria for attending the offered Merit Badge Opportunities. I want your boys to experience the very best. Being prepared will guarantee that.

Space is limited so all Scouts need to register to attend. Email me your name, parent’s email address, troop number, and parent’s cell phone number. As always, all Scouts are invited to attend. Please feel free to forward this flyer to friends in other troops and districts.
